Age Verification Requirement
All customers must present a valid, government-issued photo identification if they appear under the age of 30. Acceptable forms of ID include:
Driver’s license
State-issued ID card
Passport
Military ID (for proof of age only, not for military exemption purposes)
Open Door Cigars staff are trained to verify identification rigorously. If ID is not presented, or if there is any uncertainty regarding its validity, the sale will not proceed.
Access to Retail Shop and Lounge Areas
Access to both the retail area and Sweet 7 member lounge is restricted to individuals aged 21 or older.
No person under 21 is allowed in designated smoking areas or permitted to engage in smoking activities within Open Door Cigars premises.
Prohibition on Sales to Minors
Open Door Cigars prohibits the sale, distribution, or gifting of any tobacco product or accessory to individuals under the age of 21.
Any attempt by individuals under 21 to purchase or possess tobacco products will result in immediate refusal of service, and repeat violations may lead to a permanent restriction from the premises.
Employee Compliance and Training
All employees receive comprehensive training on state and federal age restriction laws, including how to verify age and identify acceptable forms of identification.
Employees are instructed to ask for identification from any customer appearing under the age of 30, without exception.
Consequences for Non-Compliance
Open Door Cigars reserves the right to refuse service to any individual who fails to comply with our age restriction policy.
Violation of this policy by an employee will result in disciplinary action, including potential termination.
Signage and Notices
Clear, visible signs stating “21+ Only” and “We ID Under 30” will be posted at the entrance, checkout areas, and within all smoking zones.
Additional signs will state, “It is unlawful to purchase tobacco products if you are under the age of 21.
